See Where We Deliver

We know plenty of readers out there have been tasked with the role of planning a friend or family member’s upcoming Bachelorette Party (or Bachelor Party). We thought we would add a quick and easy guide to getting the job done well with minimal stress. Let the games begin!

  1. Find a weekend that works for everyone. You can’t do much else in the planning department until you know when you’re going. Depending on how many people you are coordinating with, it might be difficult to find a date that works for EVERYONE. Make sure you know from the bride or groom who are the “must haves” vs. “nice to haves.” We’ve found sending out a “doodle” to everyone can make it easy to coordinate. Make sure you give yourself dates that are far enough away to plan everything before.
  2. Brainstorm locations. Always good to have a list of a few places to go from the bride before you finalize the location. Unless the bride has their heart set on one place, of course! It will be easier that way to then decide what the most cost effective option is if budget is a concern. Some of our favorite Bachelorette Party locations are: Nashville, Austin, Charleston, Napa, Miami and anywhere in the Caribbean.
  3. Check prices. After you find your date and location, you need to check how much everything will cost. That can be the biggest bummer for guests is going somewhere SUPER expensive or people not being able to join because of the price. Keep in mind, airfare (if necessary) and price of where you are staying are only the beginning of what you spend your money on so make sure it’s not too crazy for the guests.
  4. Book a hotel or house to stay in! Make sure you have somewhere to stay and that it’s reserved far enough in advance that you won’t need to stress about that later on.
  5. Decide on favors. It’s always nice for the guests and bride to walk away with some sort of “favor” or “gift” for attending the Bachelorette. This way they will always have something to remember it by. We like monogrammed sunglasses or custom t-shirts as our favorite party favors.
  6. Make reservations. The most stressful thing during a Bachelorette is trying to find a place where everyone can eat together or hang out so make sure you have that planned out in advance. Depending on how big your group is and how popular the location is, you want to make sure you don’t end up some place for dinner that can’t seat you all or you have to wait for two hours to get seated.
  7. Plan games. But not too many! The games are definitely a fun added bonus to just a normal weekend but they can get old after a while. Our suggestion for a weekend is no more than two games to make sure there is enough to do but it doesn’t feel overly orchestrated.
  8. Make sure there is down time. As much as you want to make the most of your trip, you don’t want to overly plan it so that everyone is exhausted and miserable. It’s nice to have natural breaks between day and night time activities so people don’t always feel rushed or tired.

In the spirit of our recent blog, we thought we would move on to the next (if not most important) part of planning a wedding. It’s all about the Bachelorette Party.

First thing is first, who is planning it? Whether it’s your Maid of Honor or someone in your bridal party make sure there is someone designated to be in charge. After you make that decision the next thing to do is to figure out what type of vibe you are looking for. Are you ready to party or looking for something a little more relaxing? That is an important question to ask before you get started on planning and picking a place. Here are our top 10 options when it comes to picking a Bachelorette location:

  1. LAS VEGAS: You can’t talk about a bachelorette (or bachelor) party without mentioning Vegas. It is the epitome of partying and having tons to do. Great weather, pool parties, gambling, clubs and much more.
  2. Puerto Rico: This location offers the perfect amount of relaxation, nature, good food, beaches as well as going out venues. While you are in Puerto Rico make sure to check out their native flower the hibiscus. They have beautiful fresh flowers all throughout the city so make sure to check them out during your down time.
  3. Aspen: Interested in more of an adventure? Pick a ski resort like Aspen and set up shop for a long weekend. Make sure your bridal party skies before offering out this option. However, even if they don’t, they will definitely enjoy the spa options as well as amazing food. Also, another thing to think about is these ski resorts are also BEAUTIFUL in the summer. That way you don’t have to worry about anyone’s skiing abilities.
  4. New Orleans: Now this city has something for everyone including one of our favorite things – live music. There is always a party going on and great weather so this is a very popular spot when it comes to planning a bachelorette.
  5. Miami: Another very popular spot for Bachelorette parties. It’s very easy to get to and has everything that you are looking for. Lounging, drinking, dancing and dinning. And on top of all that beautiful beaches and great weather throughout most of the year.
  6. Napa Valley: What a more perfect way to spend a long weekend than with your closest girlfriends drinking wine day and night? This spot is perfect for almost any type of group. There is great food and beautiful areas to explore. There are outdoor activities as well as many different wine tour options.
  7. Nashville: This spot has gotten more and more popular in the last few years. It also offers a ton of live music and interesting bars that you wouldn’t otherwise have a chance to see. Nashville is one-of-a-kind and definitely a great place to pic.
  8. Austin: Similar to Nashville, this is also a spot that has gotten very popular in the last few years for Bachelorette parties. It offers something for everyone and is definitely not your typical bachelorette party option.

Wherever you go make sure each day is planned out to be lots of fun. It’s always a good idea to put one person in charge of each day or event. That way no one has to do everything and everyone gets to contribute to the fun. There are also special touches to add like getting flowers delivered to the bride-to-be’s room or making a fancy dinner reservation. Have our readers noticed that everyone (and their mother) seems to be heading to a Bachelorette Party? Well, if you’re like our DC flower team than you definitely have! Either you are heading on a Bachelorette party or you are just returning from one this summer. We’ve put together a list of some helpful tips when it comes to planning a fun Bachelorette Party for summer season.

  • Themes, themes and more themes: If you are someone that’s not afraid of being “cheesy” take advantage of this occasion because it’s definitely a great opportunity to break out the use of a theme. The first (and most important) place to start for the theme is all about the hashtag, lots of creative ones out there but it should be all based on the wonderful bride (and the groom).
  • Help the Bride Stand Out: A lot of great photo-ops, all start with a night of coordinated outfits. Whether is wearing white or all the guests in black and the bride gets to stand out in white or red, it creates wonderful photos and a great way to make the bride feel special. If you’re like our Nosegayers you may go the sparkle route instead of solid colors but either way, make sure to think ahead and tell the other guests what to bring!
  • It’s Time to Delegate: Whether there are a few of you going on the Bachelorette or a big group, divide and conquer! Have one person or a small group own each meal, a day or an activity. Often the bride’s mom will take care of one of the meals or some other activity but make sure it’s all planned out in advance. Usually the maid of honor will take the reigns here but she will definitely need her fellow bridesmaids and bachelorette goers to help.
  • Let’s Ride in Style: Haven’t seen a bachelorette in a long time that doesn’t have a limo involved. If the bachelorette party is just one night or a fun-filled weekend, make sure a limo is on the agenda. Nothing better than a group of women heading into a limo for some real driving fun. Best part is you get to make sure your bride arrives in style and nobody has to worry about driving home.
  • It’s All About the Favors: No bachelorette party is complete with a handful of favors. Make sure to provide the group with plenty of favors that include reference to the bride whether it’s on a tshirt or sunglasses (or both!). This is a great place to incorporate your theme into your favors. Make sure the favors have something fun written on them. Also for our brides, always nice to bring a favor for your guests to take home from the party to help them remember it. Make sure it’s something they will use. Nosegay flower bouquets or Nosegay DC gift baskets, could make the perfect favor.
  • How to Pick a Date: Depending on how many people are invited to attend, make sure you don’t spend all of your planning time trying to pick a date. Find out from the bride who needs to be there and who could maybe miss it that wouldn’t make them heartbroken...plan around everyone as much as you can but don’t make yourself crazy! Pick a day that the majority can attend and go with it! Also, if you are one of the guests who can’t make it, send some same day delivery flowers to make it up to the bride. The bride will love having these to arrive to when she gets to her room!
  • Timing is everything: It’s all about getting the crew hyped up for the big day. Two things to remember, don’t do it too far away from the wedding date and don’t do it too close. You don’t want to get all excited for the wedding day and then come home and have 12 months to wait. At the same time, don’t do it too close to the wedding because the bride will be stressed with last minute details. It’s also a lot more money to spend right in a row. Take the bride’s guidance when it comes to picking how far in advance she wants to have it but make sure to give her some advice.

That’s another set of useful tips in the books from our Nosegay team. We may not be experts but we do know how to have a good time so hopefully these tips will pay off! Enjoy.
